Synopsis
Using the new feature, users can get summaries or reports based on data stored in local spreadsheets, search through Slack messages or email and generate briefing notes, and create formatted presentations using files stored in the cloud, among others. This feature, named Claude Dispatch, enables a persistent conversation thread with the AI model that can be accessed via both desktop and mobile, allowing users to assign tasks and return later to completed outputs.
The feature is being rolled out gradually to Max plan subscribers starting Wednesday, with Pro users to follow. Anthropic has not indicated a timeline for a wider rollout beyond the current preview phase.
Allowing Coworking on the go
Unlike traditional session-based interactions, the new system maintains continuity across tasks, retaining context from previous exchanges. This allows users to start a request on one device and continue or follow up on another without restarting the workflow.
Claude executes tasks locally on the user’s desktop machine, leveraging access to files, connectors, and plugins configured within Cowork. Once a task is completed, the assistant delivers results such as documents, spreadsheets, or summaries rather than step-by-step processes.
Claude Dispatch use cases
The capability is designed to extend desktop-level functionality to mobile interactions, the company said.
With Claude Dispatch, users can request summaries or reports based on data stored in local spreadsheets, ask it to search through Slack messages or email and generate briefing notes, create formatted presentations using files stored in cloud services such as Google Drive, and organise, process, or modify files within specific folders on their computer, among others.
How to access Claude Dispatch?
The capability requires both the desktop and mobile versions of Claude to be installed and updated. The desktop application must remain active, with the host computer powered on and connected to the internet, for tasks to run.

How it works?
Within Cowork, users can initiate the feature by navigating to the “Dispatch” section in the side panel and completing a guided setup flow.
This includes granting Claude access to local files and allowing the system to keep the desktop active for task execution.
Once setup is complete, users can begin assigning tasks directly within the Dispatch interface, with conversations syncing automatically across devices.
This comes after the AI lab Anthropic unveiled its Claude Partner Network, a programme designed for partner firms to adopt its Claude AI model. An initial $100 million has been allocated for 2026 to provide training, technical support, and joint market development for partner organisations.
